Berlin fuzz-punk band Trash Pillow have dropped a new single and video, “Eyes On Us (It’s the Sound of a Drone),” as well as their EP RAW, released January 23, 2026. The track arrives as a sharp, confrontational statement, pairing jagged noise with a clear political focus.
“Eyes On Us” tackles the double edge of modern drone technology. On one side are surveillance drones hovering above protests, used to monitor and intimidate. On the other are armed drones operating in war zones, delivering violence from a distance. The song captures that sense of threat from above, translating paranoia, power, and danger into distorted rhythm and relentless forward motion.
The single sets the tone for RAW, a four-track EP that confronts war from multiple angles. Rather than approaching the subject from a detached viewpoint, Trash Pillow dig into it politically, emotionally, and personally. The title itself flips the word “war” backward, suggesting a need to turn the concept inside out in order to understand it. RAW is built on memory, distortion, and lived experience, refusing clean narratives or easy conclusions.
For bassist Meray, the themes are rooted in reality rather than abstraction. Having grown up connected to a war-torn country, the material draws directly from memories, fear, and lingering unease. That honesty gives the EP its weight and urgency, grounding its aggression in something deeply human.
Musically, Trash Pillow blend fuzz-heavy guitars, snarling basslines, and heavy distortion with flashes of melody and pop instinct. Their sound pulls from punk, noise, and Berlin’s underground scene, balancing chaos with structure. The result is music that feels frantic and tender at the same time, aggressive but vulnerable.
The band released RAW on January 23, 2026, and celebrated with a release show on February 6 at Wild at Heart in Berlin. With this EP, Trash Pillow don’t just write about war. They turn it over, break it apart, and respond to it loudly. RAW is messy, confrontational, and unfiltered, capturing conflict not as an idea, but as something felt in the body and carried forward.
