The Rumjacks have just released their latest single, “Come Hell or High Water,” a powerful new track from their upcoming sixth album, set to drop in early 2025 through FOUR FOUR. This marks the first new music from the Celtic punk band since their 2021 album Hestia, which received praise for its mix of social commentary and storytelling. The new single is a reflection of the band’s continued growth while staying true to their energetic and rebellious sound.
“Come Hell or High Water” takes inspiration from personal family history, as lead singer Mike Rivkees explains. The song tells the story of how his ancestors fled their homelands, escaping persecution and war. Drawing on his great-grandfather's memories of fleeing Ukraine during early 20th century pogroms, and his family's involvement in Ireland’s War of Independence, the track serves as a reminder of the struggles many immigrants face today.
The Rumjacks recorded their new album in Asbury Park, New Jersey, co-produced by Rivkees and Pete Steinkopf, founding member of The Bouncing Souls. Steinkopf, who has worked with artists like Beach Slang and The Menzingers, brought his experience to the table, shaping the album’s sound while keeping the band’s signature Celtic punk energy intact.
Fans won’t have to wait until 2025 to hear more from the band. The Rumjacks are joining Flogging Molly on tour across the U.S., starting September and going through October (dates below). They’ll be performing “Come Hell or High Water” along with other new music and fan favorites. Known for their high-energy performances, The Rumjacks continue to mix traditional Celtic influences with punk rock fire, building on a legacy that includes viral hits like “An Irish Pub Song.”
