The Dear Hunter build momentum with their album Sunya, a new film trailer, and an ongoing North American tour.
Progressive rock band The Dear Hunter have released a new trailer for their film project The Dear Hunter: North American Tour 2024 (2027), expanding the story tied to their recent album Sunya. The trailer is now streaming online and continues the band’s narrative universe, picking up after the events of their earlier tour film and pushing deeper into a surreal, character driven world.
Sunya, the band’s latest studio album, is now available on all platforms. Following the larger scale themes of Antimai, this new release shifts toward a more personal perspective. The album focuses on a single voice stepping beyond a controlled environment and facing a harsh and uncertain world. Its themes explore survival, belief, power, and disillusionment through a more direct and reflective lens.
The sound of Sunya builds on The Dear Hunter’s progressive rock style while adding synth textures, tight grooves, and hints of jazz and funk. The album feels layered and detailed, with tracks like The Glass Desert unfolding in multiple parts that move through changing tones and moods. The band continues to balance complex structure with focused songwriting, creating a project that feels both expansive and grounded.
The Dear Hunter are currently on their Road to Sunya tour, which began earlier this month on May 3 in Seattle. The North American run spans multiple regions and will continue through the summer, with additional dates scheduled across July and August. The tour will conclude on August 14 in Chicago after covering cities across the country. Select shows feature support from Closure in Moscow and K Sera.
With Sunya, its connected film project, and a full tour underway, The Dear Hunter continue to shape a distinct space in progressive rock. Their blend of concept driven storytelling and evolving sound keeps their work ambitious while staying rooted in strong musical direction.
