I’ve heard a lot of chatter about this group and haven’t gotten to check them out until now. For an indie rock duo it’s a lush full sounding recording. In a weird way it’s like a tame pop version of MY Bloody Valentine but mixed with other brit rock like Oasis, Travis, Feeder and others. At times musically it also feels like a sprinkle of older Radiohead. It’s clear to hear the brit rock influence but it’s like that got thrown in a blender with modern influence. It’s clear to hear what the hype is about. It makes you wonder why bands like NJ’s Overlake from the Bar None Records catalog didn’t get as much hype because it’s a very similar set of influences. I like everything about this style of music especially because at its core it’s got deep appreciation for everything I was listening to in the 90’s and with that formula you can’t go wrong in the eyes of Millennials and Gen X’ers. I’d recommend trying to catch these guys on their current tour while they are playing smaller rooms because they won’t be for long:
