Slow, brooding, dark indie electronic by Grey Goes Black

A dose of Mark Lanegan meets some digital beats. Contemplative. I like the ache in the man’s voice. He’s singing about some bad heartbreak shit. The bad kind. Bad. Just say it. Say how fucking terrible you feel. The man is lost at sea. That could be good. We all need a friend. If I was to hear this in the dentist’s office, I would feel much more comforted while they drilled into my gumline than if I was hearing Arthur’s Theme by Christopher Cross. I mean that with a lot of respect. This reminds me a bit of Black Heart Procession, which was great to listen to when I was dating a girl with a 69’ Nova driving me down on the 405 in LA. Drowsy drunk looking at streaming overhead lights. She didn’t like me after all, but I still cherish that memory, and if this music evokes it for me, kudos. Let’s get somber. I am left wanting more. I wanna hear that big song. I was expecting the next track to break into huge guitar 5ths, but the brooding stuff is cool too. My one critique is that you all should lose the autotune and just belt that shit out. Real is real. Pain is real, be real, you know? You aint no Cher. I believe in life after love. Just one guy’s opinion. These are folks here who want to convey some really alienated, isolated things to their audience, but I fear some of that is swallowed in the production, which is sometimes too good. Know what I mean? If you are in pain, record your drum beats with your head beating against a wall. That makes a great kick sound. I want to hear more. I appreciate this. Thanks to Grey Goes Black for the tunes! I’m just a guy drinking tequila, I am your audience! Keep doing what you do! Let’s pour that heartache and horror into a 4 track and see what you do! Get dirty!
