Russian metal band Slaughter To Prevail is back with big news. Their next album, Grizzly, will come out on July 18 through Sumerian Records. Along with the announcement, they released a powerful new single called “Russian Grizzly In America,” which comes with a music video featuring a giant animatronic bear and a cameo from UFC fighter Alexander Volkov.
Singer Alex Terrible says this album is the best they’ve ever made. In the past, they rushed their work, but this time, they took things slow, working hard on every part of the record. “We poured our souls into these songs,” Alex said. “We wanted to make sure everything sounded exactly how we imagined it.”
Slaughter To Prevail has become one of the most popular bands in heavy music. They’ve gained over a million listeners on Spotify each month and draw large crowds at concerts and festivals. At last year’s Hellfest Open Air, they led one of the biggest "wall of death" moments ever seen.
The band started in an unusual way. Alex, who comes from Yekaterinburg, Russia, met guitarist Jack Simmons, who lived in a small town in the UK. They connected online and began making music together. Early on, Alex got attention for his brutal vocal covers on YouTube. After forming the band, they signed with Sumerian Records and quickly found success.
Alex is also known for his work in bare-knuckle fighting. He recently won a fight in under 40 seconds and is now training for more matches, including one in the U.S. This mix of music and fighting adds to his intense, tough image.
With songs like “Conflict,” “Viking,” “1984,” “Behelit,” “Kid of Darkness,” and the new single “Russian Grizzly In America,” Grizzly looks like it will be their most aggressive and complete work so far.
Slaughter To Prevail continues to grow in the extreme metal world. Their music is harsh, loud, and full of energy. They’re not just keeping up with the genre—they’re leading it.
