RYAN POLLIE: ON THE NOSE

I sold my ticket to go home
I’m never going home again
I bought my ticket to the show
They’re never coming back again
I’ve been looking for a dime or dozen reasons to get old
I’m never getting old again
I met my baby on the road
She’s never going back again
I’ve been looking for a dime or dozen reasons to get old
I’m never doing that again.

From his forthcoming album “Stars” Ryan Pollie offers up the single “One The Nose” and it has an interesting feel overall. I hear a little bit Clap Your Hands Say Yeah in the bass and drums but overall it’s a little bit Pavement and a little bit Wilco. I’m not sure if this falls under Indie Pop or because of the country twang maybe Americana. This has nice texture to it and comes off with no abrasiveness or grit and at times is almost in the vein of the Allman Brothers or Canned Heat. It’s always nice to be able to hear a handful of influences from any band instead of a one trick pony. Looking forward to the full album due out 12/10 via Forged Artifacts in the USA, Mapache / Light in the Attic for UK / EU.
