Richmond, Virginia trio Reverse Yr Curse have shared their new single “Shoes Today” along with an accompanying music video directed by Los Angeles artist Alex Germanotta. The track arrives just ahead of their debut full-length album Where Are We Going and When Will We Get There?, which released on September 19.
Recorded at Spacebomb Studio with producer Alex De Jong, the album builds on the foundation laid by the band’s 2024 self-titled EP, offering a more layered and polished sound. “Shoes Today” shows this growth, expanding on the group’s live energy with rich vocal harmonies, textured guitars, and synth layers that elevate the track beyond its raw jam origins.
Lyrically, “Shoes Today” explores empathy and perspective, centering on the idea of walking in someone else’s worn-down shoes. The song balances its thoughtful message with a vibrant, artful arrangement, blending indie rock grit with melodic nuance.
The new single follows the album’s lead track “Who Cares,” which was released earlier this year with its own video by Carter Amos. Together, the two singles showcase different sides of Reverse Yr Curse — one restless and immediate, the other reflective and melodic — hinting at the album’s range.
As a band, Reverse Yr Curse are known for crafting music that straddles the line between experimentation and tradition. Their songs wrestle with personal struggle and broader reflections on the world, moving between tension and release.
