New Hardcore Punk from Finland's Teresa Banks!

Keep on Banging

With their name taken from the character in Twin Peaks, Teresa Banks emerges from Helsinki with their sometimes political punk (pop punk?). There probably are tons of newer punk rock bands that I'm not as aware of as I am very hard at work listening to the sounds of my wooden rocker on the front porch. This release fits well within that category. Elements of thrash in the guitar sound with the occasional little chunky riff. Vocals that are very 90s pop punk. When the singer is gravelly and snotty it sounds stronger, it sounds more like their own. More Teresa Banks and less Propagandhi or NOFX.

At their best, they belt out sing-a-long, anthemic choruses that you can punch your mom’s walls and skate a parking deck to.

“The Stand” is my favorite track on the record. It feels like the beginning of an evolution in sound for Teresa Banks. They are on the verge of really forming their own sound and not relying too much on the formula used by many bands in the 90s. “Sudan” a second favorite. Turned up very loud they sound strong and well-produced (maybe too well produced?).

For fans of 90s style pop-punk with some extra grit, check out Teresa Banks.

The record drops 12/15/2020. For more info please visit these links:
