This song is interesting as it has modern aesthetics with clean pop drumming, tight pop harmonies, nice synth tones and a deep synth bass filling up the background space. The core song is kind of simplistic and almost Fountains of Wayne in it’s songwriting borrowing simple 50’s & 60’s song structure and chord structure but the modern twists keep it interesting. Their previous band The Mowgli’s and the current band seem to be popular so they must be doing something right.
