MEET ASBURY PARK RESIDENT ALIENS SYNTH DARK WAVE INDIE BAND NEON RAYON

Transmission from Neon Rayon to the people of Earth: Neon Rayon emerges from the depths of cosmic innovation, born in Rayon HQ and summoned to Earth in response to a crucial juncture in human history marked by the stifling grip of conventional music. Crafted with precision and care transcending spacetime, our debut EP "ARRIVAL" stands as a testament to our mission: to liberate the human spirit through the universal language of music. With pulsating rhythms and ethereal melodies, Neon Rayon invites listeners to dance themselves free from the constraints of the mundane, offering a sonic journey unlike any other.

How did the band form and what does the band name mean?

We were formed in a lab at Rayon HQ, a location so far from here you would not know where it is even if we told you. Our creators took samples from the Music of the Spheres, condensed them to light rays, pointed them at Earth, and BAM, there we were. How we took human form is very akin to what Jeff Bridges did in the film Starman. Its a common way to travel the stars. Neon Rayon means spiritual freedom.

Previous musical projects? How'd you first get into music?

The human forms we have taken have been in such previous/current musical projects as Hunchback, Gay Guy Straight Guy, Execütors, Shut Up, Nervous Triggers, Intimidation, Black Wine, Ether Sunday, Forsooth!, and more. We derive our individual selves from the Music of the Spheres, so music has always been within us.

What's your writing process like?

Fun. Noisy. Sometimes chaotic. Sometimes melodic. We experience great joy being able to create music on this planet.

What other artists or songs inspire your music?

Human groups such as Six Finger Satellite, Flock of Seagulls, Nine Inch Nails, Brainiac, Viagra Boys, The Faint, The Hives, Ministry, Screamers, and Devo.

What's the live experience like and your philosophy on playing live? Do you think the music live should be identical to the recorded version or should it be it's own thing?

Each transmission of ours is like a beautiful tooth inside a set of chompers. None are the same, yet each one is beautiful in their own way. When compiled together, they can clearly communicate our message, and also bite. We hope to amass a lot of beautiful teeth.

Has the band toured? What has the touring experience been?

We arrived on this planet a little over a year ago, so we have not had the chance to tour yet, but we get excited thinking about the future.

What's up next for the band?

More transmissions, more recordings, more encounters. We enjoy playing music for the people, so we hope to continue that and grow in the process.
