Maxton Hunter : Honestly

It’s a wake n bake kinda morning, what with the delta variant and new mask mandates, people refusing to get the vaccine, the bizarre adventure that is employment, and the post (not yet apparently) pandemic and quarantine agoraphobia, keeping me from social gatherings, musical or otherwise. If there was ever a day I needed a transport to the west coast, to the Pacific Ocean, it’s today. Too much east coast is bad for you, everybody needs to wrap themselves in that wondrous west coast feel from time to time. It balances you out, reminds you how small you are yet in a calming and liberating way. What am I rambling about? Luckily for me I received the latest from CA based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Maxton Hunter in my inbox this morning. I was first introduced to Hunter via the chill and captivating vibes of the single “Noosa” released earlier this year that really grabbed me and I wrote about. Maxton’s new single “Honestly” continues that theme with crisp production, laid back dreamy vocals (with exceptional backing vocals by guests AriBella and james october), warm guitar tones, and most importantly, incredible song structure and infectious melody that you can’t get out of your head and planted me on a beach in Big Sur with no one around me on either side for miles. Honestly, thanks Maxton. NJ & NY are a fucking jungle.
