Toronto-born rapper Lex Leosis returns with i’m a little sensitive — the first of three planned EPs — out today alongside an accompanying short-film trailer that visually ties the project’s themes of confidence, vulnerability, and rebirth into one cinematic experience.
Known for her razor-sharp bars, magnetic presence, and outspoken confidence, Lex has made her name as a commanding voice in hip-hop. But i’m a little sensitive flips the lens inward. Across three tracks, she strips away bravado to reveal the insecurities and quiet moments that sit behind her signature boldness. The result is a deeply personal work that trades swagger for self-examination without losing any of her bite.
The EP opens with a line that sets the tone for the project’s honesty and humor: “I can’t ignore that my most liked posts are when my titties pushed up, sitting in focus…” It’s self-aware, sharp, and unflinchingly real — a snapshot of modern identity filtered through Lex’s fearless voice.
On “insecure,” she turns self-doubt into a reclamation of pride, owning her difference and refusing to shrink herself to fit anyone’s expectations. “sayso” follows as a bold anthem for recovering people pleasers, centering women and queer listeners who’ve spent years putting others first. The closer, “theweeds,” bursts with playfulness and defiance — a celebration of growth, survival, and the hard-earned joy that follows both.
The project’s visual companion, directed by Toronto-based filmmaker Anyo, uses recurring color and imagery to expand the story: red backdrops for emotional confinement, splashes of white for release, and a raw, dreamlike atmosphere that mirrors the EP’s tone.
Having cut her teeth in Toronto’s battle and cypher circuits, Lex Leosis has grown into a formidable artist whose evolution mirrors her message — standing tall in vulnerability. i’m a little sensitive marks a new era, one where honesty hits just as hard as her punchlines.
