JAUS: OCEANS SINGLE

A nice mix of heavy and mellow in a way that kind of reminds me of if the Deftones did more radio friendly poppy tunes. Take all the bark out the vocal and replace it with something smooth that floats along the top of the song and that’s what you have here. The song feels like it’s influenced more by major label bands of the past than anything indie. The song has driving guitar throughout that never breaks from octave chords or solos for very long. The guitars are hard to ignore and resemble a punky Johnny Marr vibe. I think the band nails a pleasant mix of pop and goth to create a nice original niche sound for themselves.
