Italian avant-garde project OSLO TAPES return with their latest album LÅST COMET, set for release through Worst Bassist Records (LP), Golden Robot Records (digital), and Grazil Records (CD/tape). The record marks a bold new chapter for the collective, blending kraut-gaze textures, ritual rhythms, and cosmic experimentation into a striking sonic experience.

Led by founder Marco Campitelli, OSLO TAPES have grown into an expanded lineup, bringing together musicians from across Europe to push their sound further into hypnotic and experimental territory. LÅST COMET was co-produced and mixed by Amaury Cambuzat (faUSt, Ulan Bator) and mastered by James Aparicio (Depeche Mode, Mogwai), giving the record a sharp yet immersive atmosphere.

The album features key collaborations, including Emil Nikolaisen (Serena Maneesh), Håkon Gebhardt (Motorpsycho), and Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Emilie Lium Vordal, whose spectral vocals intertwine with Campitelli’s own to create otherworldly harmonies. Together, these voices and instruments build a layered soundscape that drifts between ritualistic grooves and distorted, dreamlike passages.

The first single, “Inhuman Witch,” is accompanied by a new video that captures the spellbinding energy of the track. Driven by pulsing rhythms, deep bass, and swirling synth textures, the song embodies the new direction of OSLO TAPES — hypnotic, evocative, and uncompromising in its vision. The video adds a visual counterpart, further immersing listeners in the project’s mystical and esoteric world.

Across its full length, LÅST COMET promises to expand the project’s reputation for crossing genres and traditions. Elements of krautrock, shoegaze, psych, and European avant-garde are woven into a cohesive ritual-like flow, one that invites listeners into a trance-like state. The record reflects OSLO TAPES’ continued commitment to exploration, breaking boundaries while remaining rooted in atmosphere and texture.

With LÅST COMET, OSLO TAPES cement themselves as one of Europe’s most adventurous underground acts, carrying their sound into new cosmic dimensions. “Inhuman Witch” serves as the first glimpse into this world, offering a hypnotic initiation into the album’s ritual of sound.
