Admittedly, BMN needs to get more organized. I’m not sure how this track got lost in the shuffle but I was stoked to find it when shifting through the inbox for hidden gems. Luckily for us, there usually are a few if we dig. I openly admit what caught my eye on this one was the lack of a massive, overwritten press release with a shitload of info we don’t need at a site like BMN. I guess a lot of people miss the “unpretentious af” tag line. The pitch from Fugitive Moods simply had the link to this incredible pop song and the following couple sentences:
“By 2016 he found himself a threadbare soul languishing among the spectacular landscapes of the New Mexico high desert. His music career was disintegrating and his personal life in disarray.
What little he had to his name included a boatload of vinyl records and the ramshackle remains of a hodge podge home recording studio. Lost and uncertain, Collin’s life had been overturned in a matter of months.
Although battered and frayed, his world was held together by two unbreakable strings: the music he had dedicated his life to create, and the two children he refused to fail.”
Catchy, hooky pop with a scruffy, gruff vocal: yes please.
“We stay divided all because these walls. They were built so tall. How far would we fall if we would climb so high we could see the other side?”
A song of togetherness in a time of divisiveness and chaos. A catchy af pop tune that immediately catches your ear and makes you nod your head with enjoyment and anticipation of where the song is going. A disorganized site and a guy who needs a glass of wine. Thanks, Collin.
