Philadelphia’s ERRTH has released “Streets Don’t Sing,” the final single from their upcoming self-titled debut album. The track is a sharp, urgent protest against rapid gentrification, calling out developers who strip neighborhoods of their identity. “It’s just crazy to see the character and charm stripped out of these places, and once it’s done, it feels impossible to bring back. And I have to ask...who is this for?” says guitarist and vocalist Kevin Day.
ERRTH is made up of musicians with deep roots in the punk scene, featuring members of Aspiga, Public Serpents, Reunions, and Seeing Snakes. Their debut full-length, recorded with Dave Downham (Beach Slang, Into It. Over It., mewithoutYou) at The Gradwell House, taps into the raw, urgent sound of early ‘90s punk. While “Streets Don’t Sing” rages against disappearing cityscapes, the album’s other single, “New Orleans,” brings in the fast-paced energy of bands like Lifetime and Kid Dynamite. ERRTH will be released on March 7 via Uncle Style Records, an imprint of Bad Time Records, with vinyl pre-orders available now.
Formed in late 2022, ERRTH is a band that moves fast. In just over a year, they’ve written and recorded their debut album, played shows across the Northeast, and carved out their own space in Philadelphia’s punk community. Their lineup—Day (Aspiga/Graduation Speech), Eric Saylor (Reunions), Tim DeMarco (ex-Public Serpents), and Brian McClure (Seeing Snakes)—brings together decades of experience, and it shows in their songwriting. The band mixes East Bay and Midwestern punk influences with the relentless speed and grit of the Northeast scene. Their dual-vocalist, three-songwriter setup keeps things fresh, balancing melody with intensity.
