Deaf Lingo Drops New 3-Track EP Cheesy with Fresh Sounds and Bold Energy!

Italian alternative rock band Deaf Lingo is back with their latest release, a digital EP called Cheesy. This new 3-track project will be available on November 15 through Lövely Records. Known for blending punk, lo-fi, and indie rock, the band continues to showcase their raw, energetic sound in this release. Cheesy marks their first new music since their second album Lingonberry, which came out in 2022.

The songs on Cheesy were recorded and mixed by the band's main songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, Sandro Specchia. Mastering was done by Riccardo Zamboni, adding the final touch to their lo-fi, garage-inspired sound. Fans can look forward to the first single from the EP, "The Ballad of the Eternal Spin," which comes with a video highlighting Deaf Lingo’s unique blend of punk energy and melodic touches.

Deaf Lingo started as a solo project in a living room, using only basic equipment. Their early days were marked by DIY recordings like their 2015 EP Split Pee, which featured three tracks recorded with a simple setup. By 2017, they released their first full album, Bug, on One Chord Wonder and Fatty Liver Records. This album had nine songs recorded on an 8-track analog recorder, emphasizing their lo-fi, gritty sound.

In 2022, Lingonberry represented a step up in production quality. The album, released under the Swedish label Lövely Records, had ten tracks combining rock riffs with catchy melodies while maintaining their punk roots. It also introduced a hint of ballad-style songs, showing the band’s willingness to experiment.

The current Deaf Lingo lineup features Sandro Specchia on vocals and guitar, Gabriele Zaramella on guitar, Matteo Mapelli on bass, and Mauro Ronchi on drums. With Cheesy, they aim to continue evolving while staying true to their DIY roots. Deaf Lingo's ability to blend raw punk energy with melodic indie rock makes Cheesy a must-listen for fans who appreciate honest, lo-fi sounds with a touch of creativity. The EP promises a fresh take on their signature sound, solidifying their place in the indie rock scene. Fans of raw, melodic rock should definitely give it a listen.
