Miami-born, Los Angeles-based artist CASANDRA has released her new EP, ISLA TRANQUILITA, a six-song collection inspired by family, identity, and the search for inner peace.
Singer, songwriter, and producer CASANDRA has released her new EP, ISLA TRANQUILITA, available now on all major streaming platforms.
Translating to "little island of peace," the six-track project is a deeply personal tribute to the artist's late great-aunt Teresa, a Cuban émigré who played an important role throughout CASANDRA's childhood in Miami. Whenever she felt overwhelmed, her aunt would remind her to be "tranquilita," encouraging her to slow down, breathe, and find calm amid life's challenges.
That message serves as the emotional foundation of the EP, which blends alt-pop, R&B, and electronic elements into a rich and immersive listening experience. Across six songs, CASANDRA explores themes of healing, self-discovery, vulnerability, and resilience while creating a sound that feels both intimate and cinematic.
Drawing from her Cuban heritage, CASANDRA writes and performs in both English and Spanish, weaving together cultural influences that give ISLA TRANQUILITA a distinct identity. The result is a collection of songs that feels transportive and deeply personal, balancing bright, rhythmic production with reflective storytelling.
The EP was created during a physically and emotionally difficult period marked by ongoing health challenges. Through the songwriting process and her collaboration with producer Jaye Locke, CASANDRA found a creative space where she could reconnect with herself and transform personal experiences into art.
Born in Miami and now based in Los Angeles, CASANDRA has spent nearly a decade developing her independent career. Homeschooled for much of her childhood, she formed a strong connection to her imagination and inner world at an early age, influences that continue to shape her music today.
Featuring the tracks “TRUTH SERUM,” “PERMANENT MISTAKE,” “WANT VS NEED,” “EXPLICIT,” “SOLUTION,” and the title track, ISLA TRANQUILITA marks a defining moment in CASANDRA's artistic journey.
