German post-rock band BRUECKEN have released a new single and video, “Questions We Raise,” offering the first deep look at their upcoming album Years That Answer, due out February 27, 2026 via Moment of Collapse Records. The album is not yet released, but the new track sets a clear direction for what’s to come.
“Questions We Raise” sits at the edge of post-rock, post-metal, and post-hardcore. The song builds slowly, then presses forward with force, mixing heavy guitar lines with restrained melodic passages. Subtle electronic layers add depth without pulling focus, giving the track a tense and reflective feel. It’s urgent without rushing, emotional without tipping into excess, and shows a band sharpening its voice.
The single also introduces the core themes of Years That Answer, BRUECKEN’s third full-length and most expansive release so far. Inspired by a line from writer Zora Neale Hurston, the album looks at a world shaped by climate collapse, war, and rising control, while asking how hope can exist under that weight. Rather than offering easy answers, the band focuses on endurance, change, and response.
For the first time since their 2017 EP, BRUECKEN bring vocals back into their music. Guitarist Thorge Freidel provides a lone vocal presence on the track “periapsis,” while the album closes with “signs of spring,” featuring a full choir performance by the Emden Kneipenchor. These choices add new emotional range without abandoning the band’s instrumental foundation.
The band’s sound has also expanded with the addition of Bernd Frikke, whose synths and electronic textures widen the album’s atmosphere. Recorded in both Berlin and Oldenburg and mastered by Magnus Lindberg, Years That Answer balances heavy, driving moments with fragile and open spaces.
With “Questions We Raise,” BRUECKEN present a focused and confident step forward. The track doesn’t just preview a record—it signals a band pushing past familiar borders, building something larger, heavier, and more immersive ahead of its February release.
