BMN VIDEO PREMIERE: BOSTON EXPERIMENTAL SYNTH BAND CLAMB PREMIERE "EGGS" OFFICIAL ANIMATED VIDEO

The Boston-based experimental/krautrock band CLAMB and their visual collaborators DIGITAL AWARENESS have released the band's first music video for the track "Eggs" off of their debut album Earth Mother Grapefruit (2021, Mint 400 Records). Vignettes of a crashing wave, a bursting volcano, a nest of eggs ready to hatch, and a cheeky laughing face trade off the spotlight over a DEVO-inspired broken synthesizer funk pattern. Before long, the band unravels the musical phrases; the egg gives way to a fire-breathing phoenix, a mystical temple appears from the mist, and a powerful pyramid carved from an orange rises from a bog before the entire endeavor is subsumed by laser beams. The band's synthesizer player and visual artist Peter Danilchuk animated a cycling series of scenes reflecting the hypnotic musical repetition that has become Clamb’s mainstay.

Digital Awareness, known in the Boston music scene for their dynamic live visuals with a variety of bands, including an ongoing collaboration with Clamb's live set, brought their unique VHS-blended-with-digital aesthetics and charming personality to elevate the original animations and create new layers of tension and release on top of the character of the animations. "Eggs" is Clamb and Digital Awareness's first published collaboration.

The video made its live premiere in front of an audience in September 2022 at the Weird Local Film Festival in Somerville, Massachusetts and releases to the public Friday, December 16, 2022.
