So full disclosure I run a record label and I’ve come to an agreement with Blood Makes Noise to let me promote releases every week. This week we released two singles, one from California’s VanDeRocker and the other from North Jersey’s The Components. Both bands are from the extreme polar opposite sides of punk. VanDeRocker’s new single takes it’s cues from 60’s garage rock and mixes it with an alt 90’s feel where as The Components are pure 70’s meets the 2000’s punk rock with their cover of The Distillers. What I tried to do with this playlist is present some of what I thought were the influences on these bands and their tracks. Of course it’s hard to really do that when you are talking about a cover song but check out The Components version against the original and see what you think.
