Beauty In Chaos return with “Get Down Moses,” one half of their new double A-side single God’s Gonna Cut You Down / Get Down Moses, released via 33.3 Music Collective. The track offers the project’s own take on the Joe Strummer classic, reshaped through a dark, atmospheric rock lens that fits seamlessly within Beauty In Chaos’ evolving sound world.
Produced by Michael Rozon, the song blends grit and groove with a sense of urgency. Thick bass lines, steady programmed drums, and layered guitars create a driving foundation, while subtle synth textures add depth without softening the edge. The track moves with purpose, carrying a confrontational tone that feels direct and grounded rather than ornamental. It is forceful but controlled, leaning on rhythm and repetition to push its message forward.
Michael Ciravolo leads the performance on vocals, guitar, and percussion, anchoring the song with a firm and expressive delivery. The backing vocals add weight and dimension, reinforcing the call-and-response feel that runs through the track. Rather than modernizing the song for novelty, Beauty In Chaos focus on preserving its urgency, allowing the lyrics and structure to speak with renewed clarity.
The accompanying video, filmed and directed by Vicente Cordero, mirrors the song’s energy with sharp visuals and a raw performance focus. Shot in close connection with the video for “God’s Gonna Cut You Down,” it shifts tone while keeping the same underlying tension. The result feels loose on the surface but pointed in intent, matching the song’s balance of movement and critique.
The double A-side pairs “Get Down Moses” with Beauty In Chaos’ smoky, enveloping take on the traditional gospel hymn “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.” Together, the two tracks explore themes of power, accountability, and resistance through different musical angles—one rooted in gospel tradition, the other driven by punk spirit and rock force.
Since launching in 2018, Beauty In Chaos has grown into a wide-ranging collaborative project guided by Ciravolo. Drawing from post-punk, industrial, gothic rock, and alternative traditions, the project continues to evolve while maintaining a clear identity.
“Get Down Moses” stands as a strong example of Beauty In Chaos’ approach: respectful of its source, bold in execution, and fully grounded in the present.
