Boston singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Baxter Hall has returned with "The Work," a powerful new single that serves as the title track to his upcoming four-song EP, due Sept. 18. Blending indie folk, roots rock, and soaring guitar-driven arrangements, the song marks Hall's first new music in more than two years while revealing his most personal songwriting to date.
At its heart, "The Work" is a meditation on healing, self-preservation, and the difficult decision to establish personal boundaries. Inspired by Hall's own experience of going no-contact with a parent, the song explores the grief, empowerment, and emotional complexity that come with breaking painful cycles.
