badsoma Announce Self-Titled EP, Share New Single “Coffee Pot”

Los Angeles-based indie rock band badsoma will release their self-titled EP on November 7, with pre-orders available now. Leading the project is the new single “Coffee Pot,” which arrives alongside a video and digital release across all platforms. The song debuted today via It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine, offering a first look at the band’s nostalgic yet modern sound.

At its heart, “Coffee Pot” is a restless love song. It blends yearning vocals with sharp, guitar-driven textures that recall an era when rock bands filled stadiums and cassette decks. The track captures badsoma’s signature tone — both melancholic and electric — a mix of memory, rebellion, and melodic intensity.

badsoma began as the solo project of Armin Fard, an Iranian-American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, before evolving into a six-piece collective shaped by shared vision and collaboration. With Braden Rose on percussion, Starlit and Ana Léon on guitars, Donald Segien on bass, and Lindsey Hamilton on violin, the band’s sound is cinematic, textured, and emotionally layered.

The group recorded most of the EP at MooseCat Recording in Los Angeles, with additional production completed at Armin’s home studio in Long Beach. Working as co-producers, Armin and Braden focused on keeping the recordings raw and immersive — balancing the clarity of studio polish with the immediacy of their live performances.

The upcoming EP follows 2022’s Kicking and Screaming, which reached #134 on the NACC Top 200 and saw its single “burn out” hit #2 on KCSB’s Hit List. The band quickly gained traction across college and community radio, earning early acclaim for their vivid storytelling and introspective songwriting.

With the release of their self-titled EP, badsoma continue to define themselves as a band that thrives on collective energy and creative honesty. Each song blends personal reflection with wider social themes, forming a sound that feels both deeply human and unmistakably modern.
