Seminal New Jersey post-hardcore band Armor For Sleep will return this fall with their brand-new studio album There Is No Memory, due out Friday, November 7 via Equal Vision Records. The record was produced by Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada, Between You and Me) and marks the group’s first full-length since 2022’s The Rain Museum.
The album’s lead single, “Breathe Again,” is out now with an accompanying video directed by Dylan Hryciuk and Michael Herrick. The track channels regret and betrayal, capturing the struggle of reconciling with someone who caused pain at a moment of vulnerability. It sets the tone for an album that wrestles with the nature of memory and the power it holds over identity.
While The Rain Museum was steeped in metaphor and personal upheaval, There Is No Memory takes a more direct and literal approach. Frontman Ben Jorgensen explains that the inspiration came when his computer displayed the error message “THERE IS NO MEMORY” while he was writing demos, a moment that became central to the album’s concept. The record explores memories as forces that shape, haunt, and define who we are, asking whether we are simply the sum of our past or capable of choosing something new.
From the surging opener “The Outer Ring” to the hushed closer “All The Best,” the record moves through a wide emotional spectrum. Tracks like “In Another Dream” and “What A Beautiful World” capture desperation and loss, while songs such as “Ice On The Lake” and “Last Days” strip things down to bare vulnerability. Together, the album builds a narrative arc that ends in acceptance, even as the memories linger.
In support of the album, Armor For Sleep will join Senses Fail and Story of the Year on the Scream Team Tour, kicking off November 17 in Atlanta, GA. The run marks a return to stages nationwide, where the band will perform both new songs and fan favorites.
