Arm’s Length Releases Powerful New Album ‘There’s A Whole World Out There’

Ontario emo band Arm’s Length has just released their second full-length album, There’s A Whole World Out There, through Pure Noise Records. The album is now available to stream on all digital platforms and comes with a new music video for the emotional track “Fatal Flaw.”

Known for their honest lyrics and loud, energetic sound, Arm’s Length continues to push forward with songs that explore sadness, fear, and healing. The new record includes earlier singles like “The Weight,” “You Ominously End,” and “Funny Face,” all leading up to this powerful new release.

“Fatal Flaw” stands out as a deep and personal song. Singer and guitarist Allen Steinberg says it’s about feeling disconnected from your younger self and wondering if they’d be proud of who you’ve become. “The lyric ‘look at what you’ve done’ is both proud and disappointed,” he explains. The song features a strong chorus and an emotional bridge that shows the band’s signature style.

There’s A Whole World Out There was made with producer Anton DeLost, who has worked with the band before. While Steinberg wrote most of the music, the rest of the band—guitarist Jeremy Whyte, bassist Ben Greenblatt, and drummer Jeff Whyte—helped shape the final sound. The album also features strings by Bonnie Brooksbank and piano by Alex Scalzo-Brown, adding more depth to the music.

Steinberg shared that he was going through serious mental health struggles while working on the album. He says the songs come from a real place and weren’t made to impress anyone else. This personal approach gives the album its honest and moving sound.

The band, over the past two months, wrapped up touring with special album release shows in Chicago, Cleveland, Toronto, Philadelphia, and New York City. With their mix of emotional lyrics and sharp guitar work, Arm’s Length is carving out a path similar to bands like Movements, and they seem well on their way to reaching that same level of impact in the emo rock world.
