Argentinian band Fin del Mundo has just released their new album Hicimos crecer un bosque. This latest record features eight songs that move through genres like indie rock, shoegaze, dream pop, post-rock, kraut-rock, and Midwest-emo. The band approached this project with complete creative freedom, using a mix of influences to tell their story.
The album paints the picture of someone facing difficult personal times while many people around them leave to find better opportunities. The character stays behind in a harsh and unfriendly world with others who couldn't leave. Despite this, they reflect on their life and find hope that tough times will pass. By the end of the album, the story shows the results of teamwork and love, symbolized by trees growing in a large forest. The band’s lyrical focus on resilience and connection ties the songs together with deep, heartfelt emotion.
Fin del Mundo has been making waves internationally. Their recent live sessions for KEXP and Sesiones Bravas have captivated fans, and their participation in the Fender Next program brought even more attention to their unique sound. In the past year, they also toured Europe and Latin America and released the album Todo va hacia el mar.
Hicimos crecer un bosque was recorded in Buenos Aires at Unísono Cerati by Estanislao López and later mixed by Nicolás Aimo at Estudio Albatros. The final touches came from Sr. Warrior, who handled the mastering. The album’s artwork was created by Candela Pérez and Francisco Picone, adding visual depth to the project.
Released on October 18, 2024, the album is available on streaming platforms and as limited vinyl, CD, and cassette editions through Spinda Records.
