AITIS BAND will release their fourth full-length album, AITIS BAND – IV, on October 10 via Ernest Jenning Record Co. Produced by longtime collaborator and former bandmate Nate Kinsella, the album continues the trio’s blend of theatricality, surrealism, and dark wit. Pre-orders are available now.
The record’s first single, “Screenplay,” arrives with a visually arresting music video directed by acclaimed horror filmmaker Jennifer Reeder. The track draws inspiration from the occult mysticism of Aleister Crowley and the lavish nightmares of Dario Argento, weaving a tale of the artist’s struggle for worthiness. Over an eerie pulse, Ausikaitis’ vocals narrate a scene both intimate and menacing, while Burg and Borchers’ arrangements simmer with tension.
Reeder’s accompanying video unfolds like a short horror film: a would-be actor stumbles into a blood-soaked tableau, part ritual, part nightmare — evoking the feverish shock of Carrie filtered through arthouse surrealism.
Formed in 2019 by former Joan of Arc members Bobby Burg (Love of Everything) and Melina Ausikaitis, along with visual artist/musician Ray Borchers, AITIS BAND have built a reputation for performances that are as visually strange as they are sonically compelling. Their songs balance deadpan humor with haunted house ambience, drifting from whispered ballads to pulsing, noisy anthems. Lyrics often recount unsettling conversations verbatim, heightening the intimacy and unease.
Their live setup reflects their unconventional approach: Burg on bass, Ausikaitis singing and wielding a stringless guitar fitted with a contact mic and effects pedals, and Borchers orchestrating layers of sound across three keyboards — often playing with both hands and feet while using weights to hold droning notes in place.
Over the past five years, the band has toured extensively across the U.S., sharing stages with acts like Dry Cleaning, Parquet Courts, Black Dice, No Age, and American Football.
Alongside the album announcement, AITIS BAND have revealed a run of East Coast tour dates this fall, including performances with Ted Leo and Black Moth Super Rainbow. Full dates and tickets are available now through the band’s official channels.
