Costa Rican shoegaze quintet Adiós Cometa have unveiled their newest single, “El mundo en mis brazos (Leonor)”, featuring Lucía Masnatta from the Argentine band Fin del Mundo. The track, which premiered via KEXP’s El Sonido: Cancioneros, offers a moving glimpse into the band’s upcoming album Un destello de luz, due out in Winter 2026 through Spinda Records.
Following the intensity of their previous single “Candelaria,” this new release dives inward, trading urgency for emotional depth. Built around hazy guitars, layered harmonies, and expansive atmospheres, “El mundo en mis brazos (Leonor)” captures the melancholy and warmth that define Adiós Cometa’s evolving sound. The collaboration with Masnatta adds another emotional layer — her voice weaving through the song’s dreamlike textures to evoke longing and connection.
The single represents an important milestone for the band, reflecting both personal inspiration and creative growth. Its themes draw from intimate experiences while maintaining the cinematic, shoegaze-driven scope that has become their trademark. Together, these elements create a sound that feels both introspective and universal — a balance between heartbreak and hope.
Both “El mundo en mis brazos (Leonor)” and “Candelaria” will appear on Un destello de luz, which will be available on vinyl, CD, and cassette. The vinyl edition will be released in partnership with Steadfast Records in the U.S., with pre-orders beginning October 9.
Adiós Cometa are currently on an extensive tour across Argentina, Mexico, and Costa Rica, celebrating their latest material with live performances and a special Conquista Sessions appearance. Their international reach continues to grow, with additional tour dates planned across Latin America, the United States, and Europe in 2026.
Since forming in 2019, Adiós Cometa have become one of Latin America’s leading voices in shoegaze and dream-pop. Their emotional songwriting and immersive live shows have earned acclaim from outlets including Rolling Stone, KEXP, Remezcla, and RockZone, establishing them as a defining force in the modern Latin alternative scene.
