Indie rock artist lucky break has released the official video for “Pictures of Herself” as her debut album, made it!, arrives through Fire Records.

San Francisco by way of New York City indie rock artist lucky break has released the official music video for “Pictures of Herself,” celebrating the arrival of her debut album, made it!, through Fire Records. The new visual expands the world of the album while showcasing the artist's playful and nostalgic creative style.

Directed by longtime collaborator Margaret Elle, the video moves between a bright pink bedroom and peaceful outdoor settings filled with mountains and farm animals. The colorful visual continues a story that connects several of lucky break's recent music videos, with the pink room serving as an important location within that larger narrative. Family members and close friends also appear throughout the video, giving it a personal and welcoming feel.

Inspired in part by the visual style of Elliott Smith and Liz Phair, “Pictures of Herself” blends dreamy imagery with guitar-driven indie rock. The song is one of 11 tracks featured on made it!, which documents lucky break's journey through young adulthood and the life experiences that shaped the record.

The album was written during a period of major personal change after the artist moved overseas to teach English, experienced heartbreak, and spent time recovering from illness. Those experiences became the foundation for a collection of songs exploring love, growth, uncertainty, and finding direction through difficult moments.

Produced by Grammy-nominated engineer Jessica Thompson alongside co-producer Elliott Woodbridge, made it! draws from a wide range of influences, blending indie rock with elements of pop, country, and alternative music. Alongside “Pictures of Herself,” the album includes previously released songs such as “Head Down,” “If People Could Fly,” “Crush,” and “Big Swing.”

In addition to making music, lucky break creates her own illustrations for album artwork, tour posters, and merchandise, building a visual identity that matches the colorful and heartfelt spirit of her songs.

Following the release of made it!, lucky break will spend the summer performing across the United States, including select dates with Nashville artist Maisy Owen. With the arrival of both the album and the new “Pictures of Herself” video, lucky break continues to introduce listeners to a personal collection of songs that captures the emotions, challenges, and optimism that come with growing up.
