Long Island singer-songwriter Sandy Netburn released a new music video for “Tunnel at the End of the Light” on February 17, expanding the world of her debut album Issues, which arrived last October on her 18th birthday.
Netburn, a multi-hyphenate artist known for blending Americana folk-pop with sharp lyrical perspective, directed, filmed, and edited the video herself. The visual centers on the people and passions that ground her, capturing a warm, intimate tone that matches the song’s emotional core. Soft light, close framing, and subtle visual clues offer a glimpse into her creative life.
“Tunnel at the End of the Light” stands as one of the album’s most sweeping moments. The track begins as a gentle acoustic ballad before rising into a bold, arena-sized chorus layered with rich background vocals. It carries a hopeful message about finding optimism during difficult stretches, balancing vulnerability with theatrical lift. The sound reflects Netburn’s retro-minded influences while remaining rooted in a modern voice.
Issues is a 14-track collection of acoustic-driven Americana folk-pop songs shaped by protest themes, satire, and emotional exploration. Tracks like “I’ve Got Issues,” “Not Another One Like Me,” and “Madness Wins” highlight her wit and observational edge, while songs such as “Take it from the Top,” “Like The Government Does,” “Hell Throws The Best Parties,” and “Bored of Education” showcase her mix of humor and commentary. The album presents a young artist unafraid to tackle social tension through melody and character.
Netburn will bring her theatrical live presence to Massachusetts next month. She performed at NorthEast ComicCon in Boxboro from March 13 to 15 and will appear at the “Which Side?: A Protest Music Teach-Out” showcase at The Burren in Somerville on March 24.
With the “Tunnel at the End of the Light” video now out, Netburn continues to carve out a space that bridges classic folk storytelling with modern teenage perspective, pairing acoustic warmth with expressive, dramatic flair.
