Legendary Post-Punk Band Pink Turns Blue Unveils Haunting New Single Along With New LP 'Black Swan'

Legendary European post-punk band Pink Turns Blue has unveiled their latest single, "Dancing With Ghosts," from their new album Black Swan. The song takes on the weight of toxic relationships—those draining, inescapable connections that leave lasting scars. With its pulsing rhythm and shadowy melodies, "Dancing With Ghosts" captures the struggle of breaking free from unhealthy bonds and the ghosts of the past that linger long after.

Black Swan out now via Orden Records on limited edition vinyl, CD, and digital formats. The album title references unpredictable events with profound consequences, a theme reflected in the music's introspective and often haunting tone. This marks the band's third preview of the record, following "Stay For The Night," a tribute to the post-punk and goth communities, and "Black Swan (But I Know There Is More to Life)," the album’s only ballad, which grapples with deep existential questions.

Formed in 1985, Pink Turns Blue has remained a cornerstone of the post-punk and darkwave scenes. Now consisting of vocalist/guitarist Mic Jogwer, drummer Paul Richter, and bassist Luca Sammuri, the band continues to build on the legacy of their influential debut album, If Two Worlds Kiss. Drawing inspiration from acts like Joy Division and The Chameleons, they have crafted a signature sound that fuses melancholy atmosphere with driving intensity.

Jogwer describes "Dancing With Ghosts" as a personal anthem about the difficulty of leaving toxic relationships behind. "Some last a lifetime and drain us completely. They take everything and give nothing in return. But because they are often our closest friends or family members, we feel trapped," he explains. "We dance with ghosts until we find the courage to walk away."

Following their acclaimed Tainted album in 2021 and a successful tour across the U.S. and Europe, Pink Turns Blue will return to the stage for the Black Swan tour in 2025, with stops in Germany, Belgium, the UK, and the U.S. Their continued ability to evolve while staying true to their roots makes them one of the most compelling acts in post-punk today. Black Swan is poised to be another powerful entry in their catalog—an album that balances darkness with defiance, proving that Pink Turns Blue’s music remains as vital as ever.
