WE WANDER: "POURING OUT" SINGLE REVIEW

We Wander is a female fronted self-proclaimed Indie-Alternative band, which I would more typically classify their music as Indie Folk as the acoustic guitars are quite prominent. From Mississauga, Canada the band is in the suburbs of Toronto which seems to have quite a great indie scene budding with recent bands we’ve reviewed from there like SWiiMS. The band describes themselves as creating “a lush, explorative sound”.

Lead singer Maddy Little has an iconic voice that right off the bat reminds me of Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberrys, but in a smoother delivery, lacking the sometimes shrill sound of O’Riordan’s voice. In a weird way their new single has almost a vibe like The Cranberry’s hit “Linger”. The violin adds an element that pulls the song from being pop into feeling more rustic. The band has this classic sound that feels vintage but modern at the same time. This is one of those songs you hear and you feel like you’ve already heard it and it’s familiar but you can’t quite place it. This is in no way a bad thing, I mean more in a way that it’s very accessible and easy to latch onto. The single “Pouring Out” was released October 23rd and I think it’s one worth adding to your Spotify playlist.
