MEET CANADIAN INDIE ROCK BAND PULSE PARK

Pulse Park, the German/Canadian indie rock outfit, has been making waves with their anthemic new single, "Briars". Described as a sonic journey that encapsulates the band's extraordinary beginnings and evolution, "Briars" boasts an infectious energy that hits hard from the first note and keeps listeners engaged until the last, earning its place on repeat. Drawing comparisons to the speed and intensity of Dinosaur Jr, Pulse Park showcases their prowess as excellent musicians who come together to create magic. With their promising future in the indie rock landscape, Pulse Park continues to impress with their dynamic tunes, leaving listeners eagerly anticipating what's next from this talented trio.

How did the band form?

We met on an arctic expedition. The rest is history. We took the band name from an installation by Canadian artist Rafael Lozano Hemmer. We think it sounds cool and he was very nice and generous.

Previous music projects?

Frank and Oliver played together in a band in the 90s. Marc has worked with an Electronic DJ. Nothing too ambitious.

First concert you ever went to?

Marc´s first concert was The Cure in 1992.

What´s your writing process like?

Marc is the songwriter in the band. Most ideas come from fiddling around with the guitar. Sometimes melodies appear in dreams. The songs usually start as gentle folk numbers. Then they are taken to the practice space and filled with steroids.

What other artists or songs inspire your music?

The Cure, Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Shellac, Teenage Fanclub, Red House Painters, New Model Army, Sunny Day Real Estate, Nick Drake

What´s the live experience like and your philosophy of playing live?

We´re a rock trio so we are destined to play very stripped-down, intense versions of our songs. But we like it that way. It´s crazy to see people dancing to your music. We will never get used to that. It´s great.

Has the band toured? What has the touring experience been?

We haven´t toured so far. We all have full time jobs that didn´t allow proper touring.

What´s up next for the band?

We´re releasing our second album on April 19th. We will play a few shows here and there. We´ll see what the future brings.
