Coming from the Pyrrhic Victory Recordings arsenal is what you’d least expect from the mostly punk and hardcore roster, a Billie Holiday cover. This new cover by Andrea Pranzata is not just a cover but is more like a jazz professional playing a standard, and when I say “like” I mean it totally is. The track is delicate piano with strong bluesy jazz vocals. Not only is Pranzata singing the song perfectly and with a haunting vocal reminiscent of Holiday but Pranzata is playing the piano on this track as well. Really the only difference is a cleaner updated recording and no horns, otherwise this is almost a photocopy of the original and I mean that with sincere awe. It’s rare in this day and age to hear really talented people that deserve accolades.
