Gothenburg-based project ou ou has released its new three-song EP Lake, showcasing a blend of alternative pop, synth-driven textures, and emotional songwriting ahead of a full-length album planned for later this year.
Gothenburg-based music project ou ou has officially released its new EP, Lake, a three-song collection that brings together alternative pop, electronic music, and deeply personal songwriting. The release introduces listeners to a sound that combines analog synths, acoustic instruments, and expressive vocals while setting the stage for a full-length album expected later this year.
The project is led by Swedish composer and synth artist Anna Öberg, whose music blends electronic production with instruments including flute, piano, guitar, and synthesizers. Across Lake, those elements come together with choir arrangements and driving drum performances to create a sound that feels both atmospheric and direct.
Producer Charles Storm helped shape the EP’s sonic identity, building layered arrangements that support the emotional themes running throughout the release. The result is a record that balances detailed production with a strong focus on melody and feeling.
A key part of the EP is the voice of Tilde Mossberg, whose performances bring warmth and emotional depth to each song. Moving between delicate passages and more powerful moments, her vocals serve as the emotional center of the project.
The lyrics, many of which were written by Linnéa Mossberg, explore themes such as loneliness, sadness, anxiety, and hope. Rather than focusing on a single emotion, the songs move through different states of mind, creating a listening experience that feels reflective and human. The contrast between darker lyrical ideas and bright musical textures gives Lake much of its character.
Additional contributions come from Dante Lärka, who performs background vocals, while mastering duties were handled by Wired Masters. The EP’s cover artwork was created by Per Fång.
Öberg has earned attention within Sweden’s electronic music scene through her synth-based sound and multi-instrumental approach. Drawing inspiration from classic synth music as well as contemporary electronic styles, she continues to develop a musical identity that feels both modern and timeless.
With Lake now available, ou ou has taken an important step forward as a new project. Fans will not have to wait too long for more music, as a full-length ou ou album is scheduled for release later this fall.
