Seattle darkwave band Jupe Jupe released their new single “Haunting,” the latest track from their upcoming album King Of Sorrows, arriving in February 2026. The song is now on major streaming platforms and gives another look at the band’s mix of post-punk and electronic sounds.
“Haunting” opens with a saxophone line over synth strings to set a dramatic mood. The band says the idea came from thinking about memories that stay long after relationships end. They describe these memories like “ghosts” that return without warning. Some feel calm while others seem more intense. The group wanted the saxophone to act like a voice without words, drawing listeners into the song’s theme.
The track uses low-fi samples, bass, and drums inspired by electronic acts like Boy Harsher and Twitch-era Ministry. It moves steadily toward a final sax solo, which the band sees as arriving just in time for an “exorcism.” The video for “Haunting” was filmed at a farm in eastern Washington and inside a Seattle building known for reports of paranormal activity.
“Haunting” follows “Kill Your Darlings,” released last month. King Of Sorrows builds on Jupe Jupe’s catalog of darkwave and post-punk records, including Invaders, Reduction in Drag, Lonely Creatures, Nightfall, and Midnight Waits for No One. Across seven albums, the group has mixed synth-pop pulse, post-punk shadows, glam attitude, and noir atmosphere.
The band includes My Young (vocals, synths), Bryan Manzo (guitar, bass, sax), Patrick Partington (guitar), and Jarrod Arbini (drums, percussion). Recording took place at No-Count Studios in Seattle with engineering by Evan Foster, and mixing by Matt Bayles at Red Room. Jupe Jupe has shared stages with The Ocean Blue, Actors, Leathers, We Are Scientists, The Alarm, and others, and appeared at the 2024 and 2025 Seattle Seagaze Darkwave Festivals. They sit comfortably in the darkwave landscape, using atmospheric synths, moody guitars, and dramatic rhythms that recall acts like The Cure, Cold Cave, Nation of Language, and Psychedelic Furs. Their music combines post-punk tone with electronic drive within the genre.
