Voyna have released their new studio album Monsters through Aenaos Records, marking their first full-length since 2020’s The Cinvat Bridge and their 2023 EP …And the Heresies. What began as a small side project for Golden Apes frontman Peer Lebrecht during the pandemic has now grown into a complete creative force with its own sound, tone, and vision.
With Monsters, Voyna move even further into their mix of dark atmosphere, warm vocals, and shifting electronic and rock textures. Lebrecht’s deep, velvety voice remains at the center of every track, carrying a blend of closeness and distance that has become part of the project’s identity. Around that voice, the album shifts through a wide range of moods, refusing to stay locked in one style.
The record travels across several emotional spaces. “All Your Ways” leans into soft, floating nostalgia. “Days of Light” uses thick distortion and restless movement to build a heavier, more urgent atmosphere. The title track drifts into fragile, shadowy territory, and the lead single “Wrong Face” uses a minimal, cool sound to create something clear and focused. Each track pushes into a new direction, giving the album an unpredictable and constantly shifting feel.
This sense of movement defines Monsters. Rather than settling into one tone, the songs move from bright moments to darker depths without warning, creating a listening experience full of tension and surprise. The album was mixed and mastered by Thommy Hein at his Berlin studio, giving the final release a polished but emotionally heavy sound.
Now fully out in the world, Monsters stands as Voyna’s strongest statement yet—an atmospheric, introspective, and evolving work that shows just how far the project has grown since its quiet beginnings.
