Argentine musician and producer José María D’Agostino, known for his project Ex-Colorado, bridges past and present with the release of “Go-Perros!” — a reimagined version of a song he first performed as guitarist for Buenos Aires cult band Go-Neko!. Out now, the track serves as a hypnotic prelude to his album Ex-Colorado 3, released October 17, blending krautrock precision with space-rock atmosphere and deeply personal reflection.
“Go-Perros!” unfolds in waves of textured guitars, layered percussion, and evolving rhythmic interplay. Built on a hybrid foundation of vintage drum machines, 808 beats, and live drums, it captures the loose experimentalism of The Flaming Lips while nodding to the driving pulse of Neu! and Harmonia. Psychedelic yet precise, it finds balance between improvisation and structure — a sonic landscape that feels as expansive as it does intimate.
Recorded between Frankfurt and the rural Rhön region of Germany, the single channels the tension between memory and reinvention. It’s both a tribute to D’Agostino’s earlier creative identity and a bold declaration of evolution. Mixed by Martin Heinmann (Newmen) and mastered by Tom Ripphahn (Analoghaus), the production highlights the contrast between organic textures and mechanical repetition, evoking influences from Kraftwerk to Stereolab and Primal Scream.
Ex-Colorado 3 continues the project’s journey of transforming krautrock’s legacy into a contemporary vocabulary. Rather than treating the genre as nostalgia, D’Agostino uses its hypnotic rhythms and looping structures as tools for introspection — exploring themes of travel, memory, and the constant movement of identity.
