Los Angeles-based synthwave duo LUCKYANDLOVE have unveiled their new single “Lonely At Night”, a retro-futuristic track previewing their upcoming third album Humaura. The record will be released on October 3 through SRD – Southern Record Distributors, following their earlier single “I Am Human.”
“Lonely At Night” layers analog strings, pulsing bass lines, and syncopated percussion into a swirling, dreamlike soundscape. With haunted vocals and electrified synth textures, the track creates both melancholy and energy, offering a sonic escape from feelings of isolation. The song represents the duo’s continued exploration of human emotion within a world shaped by technology, presenting music as a bridge to reconnection.
LUCKYANDLOVE is formed by Loren Luck and April Love, whose work is rooted in raw analog synths, live beats, and harmonic vocals. Their music pulls from synthwave, darkwave, dream pop, and post-punk, while carrying their own unique edge. Together, they create a sound described as both artful and visceral, moving between shadowy textures and bursts of light.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered for digital by Grammy Award-winning engineer Be Hussey at Balboa Studio and Catwater, the album also received vinyl mastering from Grammy-nominated engineer Nicholas Townsend at Townsend Mastering. The production highlights the duo’s commitment to analog warmth and layered detail.
Humaura follows the band’s earlier albums Lucky + Love and Transitions, both of which earned them an international following and tours across the US and UK. Their music has also appeared in the film Tiger Within — Ed Asner’s final role — further expanding their reach.
Blending influences from acts like Siouxsie and The Banshees, Cocteau Twins, and Bauhaus, Humaura dives into themes of loneliness, connection, and the search for meaning in modern life. Songs balance melancholy and bliss, with compositions that range from sorrowful and raw to euphoric and trance-like.
LUCKYANDLOVE will celebrate the release of Humaura with a record release show on October 11 at The Slipper Clutch in Los Angeles, presented by Deathrecordzz, alongside Warsaw Pact, Amore De Paris, No Exits, and a DJ set by Echolust.
