French duo MOUNDRAG have released their latest single, “Changes,” on September 5. The track comes in two versions: a studio recording and a live performance captured at the historic Théâtre antique d’Orange in July 2024, where the band supported Deep Purple. Both versions showcase the group’s trademark mix of heavy groove, commanding vocals, and dramatic energy.
“Changes” is the third preview of MOUNDRAG’s upcoming album Deux, which arrives October 17 via Spinda Records and Stolen Body Records. Following earlier singles “The Caveman” and “Morning Epitaph,” this new release captures the band’s most anthemic side yet. Combining 70s hard rock grit with flashes of psychedelic and progressive rock, “Changes” is both a tribute to classic influences and a call for reinvention in the present.
The upcoming album Deux spans nine tracks that blend mythology, dystopian imagery, and theatrical soundscapes. Recorded at TAF Panoramix Studio in France, produced by Goudzou, and mastered by Hans Olsson in Sweden, the record highlights the brothers’ evolving vision. The album will be released in limited physical editions, including color vinyl, black vinyl, and compact disc.
MOUNDRAG is formed by siblings Camille and Colin Goellaën Duvivier, who challenge the conventions of rock with a no-guitar setup. Armed with only drums, keyboards, and two powerful voices, they create music that feels both raw and expansive. Their approach allows them to channel the intensity of classic bands like Uriah Heep, Atomic Rooster, and Deep Purple, while also bringing in their own sense of modern urgency.
In recent years, the duo have become known for explosive live shows across Europe. They’ve shared stages with legends like Deep Purple, appeared on KEXP, and played major festivals such as Trans Musicales, Motocultor Festival, Barcelona Psych Fest, and Monkey Week. Their performances combine theatrical flair with heavy, unrelenting sound, earning them a place as one of the most distinctive acts in the European rock scene.
With Deux, MOUNDRAG push their sound further into epic, mythic, and fiery territory. “Changes” stands as their most resonant single so far, capturing both the weight of their influences and the force of their own voice.
