Southern rock group Jet Black Roses have unveiled the official music video for their latest single “Barefoot Gypsy Mama,” a track that blends vintage rock spirit with modern Southern swagger.
The video begins with a retro-styled stage performance captured through warm tones, flared pants, and classic TV transitions. As the song builds, it expands into a lively montage of life both on and off stage: tattoos, backstage moments, roaring engines, and scenes from the band’s NASCAR Cup Series pre-race appearance at EchoPark Speedway. The result is a whirlwind snapshot of the freewheeling lifestyle that fuels Jet Black Roses.
Musically, “Barefoot Gypsy Mama” highlights the band’s “rock and roll with a country soul” approach. Bluesy guitar riffs, raspy vocal delivery, and a pulsing rhythm section combine to create a track that celebrates independence and the joy of living untamed. The song embodies the spirit of wide-open highways, bare feet in the grass, and unapologetic self-expression.
This release follows the momentum of their earlier single “PsychoBoogieHoochieCoo,” produced by Grammy-winning engineer Greg Archilla. That track’s funky, horn-drenched sound established Jet Black Roses as a group unafraid to bend genres while staying rooted in Southern tradition.
Over the past year, the band has shared stages with acts such as Styx, Sammy Hagar, and Collective Soul, while also delivering a high-energy set at Luke Combs’ bar during CMA Week. Known for writing their own material, playing their own instruments, and resisting overproduction, Jet Black Roses have earned a reputation for authenticity alongside their growing following.
Formed out of a love for both rock and country, Jet Black Roses have crafted a style that celebrates harmony-driven vocals, electrifying guitar work, and raw live energy. Their breakout debut single “King of Fools” captured their sound in one take at Treesound Studios, setting the foundation for what has become a steady rise in the rock landscape.
With “Barefoot Gypsy Mama” now released, Jet Black Roses continue to carve their place as one of Southern rock’s most exciting new names.
