Old Neon, a rising pop punk band from Pittsburgh, have just dropped their new EP Resolution. The five-track project includes fan favorites “Better Son” and “Nobody’s Burden,” plus the newest single “Blizzard.”
The EP was recorded with producer Matt Brasch and mixed by Nick Steinborn, both from The Wonder Years. Mastering was done by Will Yip, known for his work with bands like Movements and L.S. Dunes.
Drummer Zach Pollack says, “Resolution is about fighting for something, even when it’s hard. We had struggles while making this EP, but every song is about moving forward, even when you want to give up.”
Producer Matt Brasch agrees, adding, “Old Neon worked long hours and still kept pushing. They tried new things, fixed mistakes, and grew as artists. Even the small details show how much effort went into this.”
The EP shows off Old Neon’s tight rhythm, heartfelt lyrics, and explosive sound. Every track carries emotion and energy, mixing sharp guitars, steady drums, and strong vocals.
The band has been featured in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, V13, and more. Formed during the early days of the pandemic, Old Neon almost broke up, but instead, they stuck it out and made their most honest music yet.
