Brooklyn indie rock band OK Cowgirl is heading out on the road this summer with Bear Hands. The tour begins on June 11 in Baltimore, Maryland, and will travel through the Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast. The group will visit 18 cities, ending the tour on July 1 in West Hartford, Connecticut.
This tour comes at the same time as the release of the deluxe version of Couldn’t Save Us From My Gut, out now on Easy Does It Records. The updated album includes six bonus tracks, with rare demos and alternate versions of past songs. These extra tracks give fans a closer look at how the band writes and records music.
Couldn’t Save Us From My Gut first came out in August 2024. It was produced by Alex Farrar, who has worked with artists like MJ Lenderman and Wednesday. The album has received strong reviews from music outlets like NME, Paste, The FADER, and Brooklyn Vegan. Songs like "Amber," “Little Splinters,” “Forever,” “Larry David,” and “Our Love” have stood out to both fans and critics.
The band started with songwriter Leah Lavigne. As a classically trained pianist, she found herself feeling stuck with the keyboard. Writing songs this way didn’t let her express her full emotions. After moving to New York City and finding a creative community, she started looking for new ways to make music. She picked up a guitar, formed a band with local friends, and began making the kind of rock music she had always wanted to play.
OK Cowgirl’s debut shows the results of years of writing and practicing. Their songs are emotional, honest, and full of energy. The deluxe release and upcoming tour mark a new chapter for the band.
