Blood makes noise

Punk-rock band Kröna is shaking things up with their hard-hitting new single “Take ’Em All.” The trio, originally from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, mixes fast punk energy with reggae rhythms and Caribbean percussion. Now based in Miami, Florida, Kröna is helping bring more attention to the Caribbean punk scene.

Formed in April 2024, Kröna includes singer/guitarist Cristóbal and bassist JP—friends since high school who used to play in a DIY band called ESPÉRICLES. After that band paused, they joined forces with drummer Chino, also known for playing in the band Zeta. The three clicked right away, and Kröna was born.

Their music blends the raw power of classic hardcore with the groove of island sounds. The band calls it “dance-in-the-pit” music: fast, loud, and made to move to. Their new single “Take ’Em All” is all about finding your voice and standing together. “It’s less about anger and more about finding strength together,” says Cristóbal.

“Take ’Em All” will be on Kröna’s upcoming first album, Dead Air Diaries, out November 22 on their own label, Merenpón Records. The album will be available on vinyl and digital platforms.

Kröna is not just a band—they are also community leaders. In their hometown of Santo Domingo, they organize Donde La Abuela Fest, a DIY punk show that helps new bands play at real venues. The festival has featured well-known underground acts from around the world.

The band has played major festivals like Destrucción Masiva and Isle of Light in the Dominican Republic. They’ve also shared stages with artists like Incubus, Strung Out, and Chet Faker in the U.S. and Latin America.

With Dead Air Diaries coming soon, Kröna is showing the world that Caribbean punk is alive and growing—and they’re leading the charge.
