Legendary punk bands Hot Water Music and Quicksand have teamed up for a brand-new four-song split EP, now available on all streaming platforms via Equal Vision Records. This highly anticipated release features two unreleased songs from each band, as well as covers of classic tracks from both groups.
Hot Water Music brings the powerful track "Undertow," a song recorded during their Vows sessions, while Quicksand offers "Supercollider," their first new music since the 2021 album Distant Populations. Each band also pays tribute to the other with covers of two iconic songs—Quicksand covers Hot Water Music's "No Division" track "Free Radio Gainesville," and Hot Water Music covers Quicksand's "Slip" favorite, "Slip."
Both bands are known for their deep connections to the punk and hardcore scenes. Hot Water Music has been making waves since 1990 with their emotional and intense music, while Quicksand, formed in 1990 as well, gained recognition with their unique blend of post-hardcore and alternative rock. The release of this split EP marks a special moment for both bands, who share a long history of admiration and respect for each other.

In addition to the release, Hot Water Music was honored with the Key to the City of Gainesville, Florida, where they were celebrated for their contribution to the city's music scene. The band was also given a special day, October 24, to honor their 30 years of music and dedication.
