Nashville's newest garage rock supergroup, Justin Webb & The Noise, have just shared their latest single, “Somewhere Between.” The song comes ahead of their debut album, Stupid Young, set to release on October 4 through Chicken Ranch Records.
The band, featuring former members of We Were The States, Bully, and Only, bring an authentic and raw sound. Produced by Jared Reynolds (bassist for Ben Folds and Hayes Carll) and engineered by Joe Costa, the album was recorded at 3Sirens Studio in Nashville.
Justin Webb, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, shared that “Somewhere Between” has a special place in his heart. Written when he was 19, it’s a song about heartbreak in a small town where there’s no escape from the gossip. Webb says the song captures the feeling of driving around, blasting music, and dealing with the weight of a breakup. He had kept the song to himself for years, but when the band started playing it, it instantly clicked. Webb also praised drummer Bryan Moore for adding the perfect groove.
“Somewhere Between” follows two other singles from Stupid Young: “Desperate Man” and “A Rose To Chew On.” With strong rock influences and personal lyrics, the band is quickly building a reputation for bringing back a more organic sound.

“Somewhere Between” is a song I first had when I was around 19 years old. It’s one of the first songs I remember playing for friends and them asking for a recording of it so they could pass it around. I’ve had that recording for years, and it’s a song that always lingered in the back of my mind that I should try to complete. When our band formed, I pulled the song out in practice and it instantly clicked for everyone. I love Bryan’s drumming on the track and feel like his energy helped us find the right groove for the song throughout the verses and through the climatic ending.
I grew up in a really small town. It seems like our relationships back then consisted of riding around on backroads and blasting music until we figured out where everyone was going to park and hangout for the night. This song is about the feeling of a break-up in a place where you have nowhere else to go, everyone is talking about it, and it was probably a friendship you didn’t want to lose (all at the same time). It seems like at that time, most of my thinking and dreaming took place in the car somewhere at night with music turned up as loud as it could go.
