From Indian Lakes are back with exciting news! Their new album, Head Void, has been getting rave reviews and is available now. Praised for its dreamy, shoegaze-inspired sound mixed with emo elements. The album was recorded in a home studio near Yosemite National Park and mastered by Will Yip. From Indian Lakes blend dreamy shoegaze with emo intensity, creating a rich, immersive sound that's both fresh and nostalgic.
Fans of the band can catch them on tour this fall with Foxing, including a performance at the Best Friends Forever Festival. The band has also just released a new Audiotree Live Session filmed in Chicago. The session features eight songs, including hits from Head Void like “The Lines” and “The Flow,” as well as fan favorites like “Blank Tapes” and “No One Else.”
For a while, From Indian Lakes took a break, with frontman Joe Vann releasing music under his own name. This change came about when Vann's new songs took a simpler direction, and the COVID lockdown made it hard for bands to tour. During this time, Vann embraced the solo route and released three albums as Joe Vann.
But the pull to return to From Indian Lakes was strong. Vann noticed that touring was becoming safer and felt inspired to write new material for the band. Moving into his own home and setting up a personal studio allowed him to make loud, energetic music again. This return to his roots has resulted in some of the best songs he's ever written for From Indian Lakes.

It’s clear that Vann’s time away from the band helped him sharpen his songwriting skills and bring a fresh energy to the music.
