I have to say I’m not much of a top 40 pop person so I’m going to do my best with the references. Maybe I’m just old but this has a Mary J Blige feel until the cameo by GASHI adds a little bit of modern hip hop flavor to it. The guest spot really does help the overall flow and creates a nice back and forth, call and response chorus. The duet nicely showcases both voices and if you are into smooth R&B you will definitely like this. I’m just not sure the readers of BloodMakesNoise totally would go for this style, but you never know. The publicists can boast like crazy about social media numbers but that stuff doesn’t mean shit to me, but this stands on its own merit and it’s clear to see the attraction.
